Dacorum Council granted consent for 112,000 sq ft of Trade City units. Following demolition of the redundant DuPont premises, the scheme was developed in a single phase on a speculative basis owing to the strong levels of demand. Supply in the area had been constrained by a lack of development land and vacant secondary accommodation.
The scheme was sold in its entirety to CBRE Investors prior to practical completion.
Kier has since developed a Travelodge hotel with adjoining restaurant facilities at the gateway to the Maylands Industrial Estate. The remainder of this site is available for office and Trade City premises.
