Construction Is To Commence At Trade City Sharston, As Kier Property Partners With Cervidae And Secures Puma Finance Backing
Kier Property has announced that construction is set to commence this month at Trade & Logistic City Sharston, a new trade and urban logistics development comprising 97,250 sq ft in South Manchester, delivered in joint venture with Cervidae.
The nine-unit scheme will provide a range of high-quality trade counter, warehouse and last-mile logistics units between 5,300 – 34,550 sq ft, targeting strong occupational demand in a well-established industrial and distribution location.
Debt financing for the development has been secured through Puma Property Finance, building on the successful funding structure established on Logistics City scheme in Milton Keynes.
Located in a prime position close to Manchester Airport and key arterial routes including the M56 and M60, Trade City Sharston is ideally placed to serve both local and regional occupiers, with excellent access to Greater Manchester’s extensive labour pool and customer base.
The development forms part of Kier Property’s growing Trade City portfolio, which continues to expand across strategically important locations throughout the UK, offering flexible, high-specification space tailored to trade, light industrial and urban logistics occupiers.
The joint venture with Cervidae reflects a shared ambition to deliver best-in-class industrial space in supply-constrained urban markets, with construction now poised to begin on site. The units will be available Q2 2027.
Darren Cheeseman, Head of Industrial at Kier Property, said: “Sharston is a key location for us and an important addition to our portfolio. With strong fundamentals, excellent connectivity and a clear shortage of modern, well-located space, we’re confident the scheme will attract high-quality occupiers.
Securing funding with Puma Property Finance and partnering with Cervidae enables us to bring this forward at pace and we’re excited to now be starting on site.”
JLL and Savills have been appointed as joint agents for the scheme.
