Kier Property has started construction works at its Bracknell site on Longshot Lane. Harmonix Construction has been appointed to build the new highly sustainable industrial and logistics warehouse which is due to be ready for occupation in October 2024.
The new building will be branded under Kier Property’s Logistics City brand and total 104,000 sq ft, including 9,741 sq ft of grade A first-floor offices. The development will target BREEAM Excellent, net zero carbon in operation and an EPC rating of A+. The building will incorporate a range of sustainable features designed to reduce the operational costs of the building including solar panels, 15% rooflights, LED lighting, a BMS system, efficient heating/cooling and market leading thermal insulation values. The development will also adopt the use of sustainable construction materials, EV charging points, landscaped employee breakout spaces and cycle storage facilities.
The 5.15 acre industrial and logistics site is located adjacent to the A329 in the heart of Bracknell’s commercial district, which is an established industrial and logistics location within the Thames Valley, home to many blue chip multi-national companies. Logistically the town benefits from excellent links to both the M3 and M4 motorways and Heathrow is just a 25-minute drive away.
Leigh Thomas, Kier Property’s Group managing director, commented: “It is great to have started on site with our third industrial development in Bracknell. The scheme offers excellent connectivity to both the M3 and M4 motorways and the strong sustainability credentials of the building are testament to our commitment to deliver cutting-edge buildings that also help drive down operational costs for the occupier.”
